Dupage River Cleanup

Earlier this month we participated in the Semi-Annual DuPage River Cleanup. GRWA showed up with a crew of 20 people fishing for trash to clean up our adopted section of the West Branch Dupage River. Our ecological team showed off their knowledge of plant and animal life around the river and forest preserve. We found a lot of trash; including old baseballs, golf balls, drink bottles, bags, soccer balls, food wrappers and even a few footballs! We gathered over ten bags of trash and enjoyed the beauty of nature while we did. After the hard work, we relaxed and mingled while having all-you-can-eat-tacos at the West DuPage Woods Forest Preserve. Thanks to The Conservation Foundation for organizing this self-coordinated event throughout DuPage and Will Counties for over 30 years! More information about the river cleanup can be found here.
